Are you a board game distributor/publisher or local SF retailer interested in helping us with our mission to promote community building through board games?
Currently we’re seeking sponsors to help us with organizing International Tabletop Day on June 07, 2025.
Our vision is to host a vibrant “Board Game Day” open house event with free admission. We want to spread the joy of modern tabletop board gaming with new folks, and to that end plan to have “game ambassadors” to help people find and learn games of all types.
We are in talks with a couple of local venues to host this event, ideally allowing us to accommodate on the order of 100 people!
What do we need?
- GAME LIBRARY: Having a library of gateway and gateway+ games to accommodate new and younger players would be very useful; our ambassadors will provide a handful of games but having a central library would be grand.
- RAFFLE: we plan to host a raffle with giveaways, so donations of games or game accessories (bags, playmats, etc) would be very useful.
- PROMOTION: helping to get the word out to various communities around the city
Who is the EGL?
The Euro-Gaming League (EGL) is a community group that has been organizing board game events in San Francisco for over a decade. The group was founded in 2011 by local pastor Gordon Wohlers, with the mission of building local community through the joy of tabletop games.
Ever since then, our club has been passionate about bringing people together to foster connection & community through the medium of tabletop board games.
We currently host a weekly game night on Mondays in SF that’s open to the public; we pride ourselves on being welcoming to new members. We’re always happy for new folks to join, as we enjoy both introducing games to new folks as well as building a fun community for all people!
EGL events are sponsored by Two Dogs Barking Inc, a 501c3 nonprofit
organization with a focus on building community.
